Java Backend Development

The goal
What you'll learn to do
- Understand Java's development tools and write programs using variables, conditions, loops, methods and user input.
- Use classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, interfaces, abstraction and encapsulation.
- Solve problems with arrays, strings, exceptions, collections, Java 8 features, threads and file I/O.
- Connect Java to a database with JDBC and build web features with JSP and servlets.
- Build REST APIs with Spring Boot and JPA, and explore authentication, authorization, Hibernate and monitoring.
- Explain microservices architecture and present a backend capstone with code, documentation and interview-style project discussion.
